World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the total of all its upgraded perks (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the number of perks that must be modified to upgrade an item.
It is also used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. Players can see their average level of item on their character sheet.
When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it will be capable of dealing with. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a seller.
The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.
There are various theories on how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory says that the item level is calculated using formulas that determine the value of the stats of an item really are. item upgrader takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value, and also that gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
This isn't the only factor that influences the ilvl of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
Item stats are a big part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the best." item upgrader on an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.
Upgrades to the item add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times, at higher costs.
Another method to alter the stats of an item is by affixing it. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or special capabilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.
All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other rerolling options.
Players can upgrade an item to a specific stat, or reroll the affixes. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it is an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the attaches, or select which stats to increase. As with the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more useful in early game runs as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chances that increase with each level of the item. They can also be increased by using anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that deals damage by five percent. These items can be purchased from the shop or made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item in the event that it fails.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..
The Luck of an item can also influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an average success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional 5%.
Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be masked by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
